PO20 - Message not found (POPCR/590)

Hi,

We have a few PO's in one of our users screens where each time he tries to release the PO, we get the error message "message not found (POPCR/590)".

Has anyone run across this before? I have searched the knowledge base and found one that was for "Message not found (POPCR/573)". I wasn't sure if it's the same issue or if the difference in numbers means it's a different issue.

We encountered that years ago - if I remember correctly, that message wither means that the Purch From location is not valid or the PO13 record is inactive.

Yes, we go through and re-select all the header fields using the drop downs - buyer, date, code, vendor, purch from, ship to, etc. Sometimes, it's just got some sort of hidden tab or character that it just doesn't like.

For us it always means one of the vendor item numbers are inactive on the PO.

Hi,

It looks like it was the purchase class issue for us. It was causing all sorts of trouble, couldn't release PO's in PO20, couldn't release items to a PO in PO23 and other users were having trouble even changing information within the PO before trying to release.

Ended up having to revert back to the previous settings... Is there a way in which we can change puchase class info without causing all this trouble?

The only way we have found to make mass purch class changes is to do it after hours when there is minimal req activity. Also try to clean as much out of PO23 as possible before making the changes. After the changes are made, monitor your PO100 job reports to see any errors.
