Hello,

Have any of you considered synchronizing IDM with another platform, for reasons of your own?

In other words, exporting IDM content on a regular basis to another medium?
Could you share some initiatives in this direction?

Yes, we do this with payables invoice documents and OnBase.  We use a combination of ION and IPA to send the documents and metadata from IDM to OnBase.  We also have an IPA flow to send invoice distribution information to OnBase for more data.  This is based on invoice distribution status that triggers the flow. 
OnBase has API's that we utilize for these processes. 
This is about as much detail as I know, though.  So, yes, it can be done.
