Tracking Tuition Reimbursement with Absence Management

We are looking for a some what automated way to tack our tuition reimbursement and are wondering if we can do this through Absence Management. We are not wanting to pay the employee through the payroll system but simply want to be able to use it as a systematic way of tracking the tuition reimbursements. Is anyone doing this or know whether this can be done or not?

That's how we track it. We set up a Scholarshp plan attached to a manual employee group. We post negative dollar amounts each time we pay out for tuition. When the employee begins their work off period, we set up a custom accrual table for them which automatically credits their plan with a fixed dollar amount each pay period (outstanding balance / # of pay periods in their work off period.) If an employee terminates before the end of their work off period, they owe us the remaining balance. When their balance reaches zero, we end the plan.
