Did you know that you can share access to the Knowledgebase site with family members?
Formerly, only employees could access the Knowledgebase (KB) when their covered family members had questions about their benefits, e.g.,
- Co-pays;
- Covered services;
- Exclusions;
- Finding providers;
- Limitations;
- Out-of-pocket maximums
- And more.
With the Share Access widget, employees and their families can login to KB with their own mobile devices.
Covered spouses, domestic partners, and adult children can locate benefits information themselves just as easily as employees.
About the Mobile Solution
The Mobile Solution is a browser-based tool for mobile devices that support HTML 5 (e.g., Android, iOS). It is intended to be used in the user’s mobile device's browser.
The Mobile Solution is for HRSD sites with:
- Knowledgebase only
- Case Management only
- Both Knowledgebase and Case Management
It allows users to:
- Access Knowledgebase documents
- Create a case through Case Management Ask HR
The Share Access Widget
To enable access to the HRSD site on a mobile device, use the Share Access widget on the Home page. Its name, image, and introductory text can vary as per customer preference.

Setup Overview
On the HRSD site’s Home page, employees click on the Share Access widget’s name to initiate the mobile access (account) setup process which entails:
- Entering an email address that is accessible via the mobile device; and
- Choosing and entering a four-digit PIN.
Employees receive a confirmation email with the link required to log into the Knowledgebase via the mobile device.
They can share access with family members by forwarding the email and the 4-digit PIN to them.
Setup Prerequisites
Employees must have:
- Access to a computer with Internet access
- Knowledgebase site login credentials
- Mobile device with internet access
- Email account setup on the mobile device
Family members must have:
- Mobile device with internet access
- Email account setup on the mobile device

Note:
As the mobile solution is used solely to extend some of the capabilities of the main HRSD portal (site), it should always be perceived as an extension of the portal rather than its mirror mobile equivalent.
