We have a client who is using Opera 3 as a point of sale system as well as a back office application. They are currently working on Version 1.70.10.
They have over 20 users and have been complaining about the speed of processing on the counters from a point of sale system. They use scanners and have pre-printed barcode labels for all their stock. They also use The Bridge and Quick stock Bespoke.
We have eliminated all of the standard issues and have set Opera up on a separate server but even still some staff complains about the processing speed when doing SOP invoices. Granted they do have quite allot of stock items and they also have some Bespoke fields ( which we are currently testing having switched them off) but on the whole since Opera was upgraded from Opera II to Opera 3 they has been a marked decrease in the speed.
If anyone has had similar problem, I would look to hear if things were resolved or is any of yee have similar client running Opera as a point of Sale system.
