Conversion of Office Plus Spreadsheets

We did a conversion of Office Plus Excel Spreadsheets in May on our TestCloud.

I have now moved the database and opened the converted Spreadsheets in Excel Integration.

In order for the formulae to work I need to addin [DefMeDim].Default Member into each cell.

There are thousands of formulae to update.

I didn't think that every dimension was required now and the default member would be used automatically for any missing references.

Is this supposed to be the case, do I have add this in manually or is there a later version of the conversion tool which manages this issue.

It could be that I have got a setting wrong in the OLAP.

We are pressed for time now. @Kai Please can you help?

hi mike,

in your database you need to set a 'measure' dimension - otherwise you get the old defmedim (default member).

through epm administration, select olap / edit database and properties of cubes. Restart olap server and the defmedim should disappear.

We did that but it's not so easy to work out a good dimension and I didn't want to cause an issue with the database. Anyway, I am not sure it's actually related to the DefmeDim. It seems that when you correctly update a formula on the converted spreadsheets, it activates the formula and then you can reset the formula and it still works.

It has left me with the task of going through 4 large reporting workbooks. I have to change the database name anyway and then getting a formula to work. It is as though the changed formulae haven't connected to the database properly.

Any thoughts

Hi Mike,

I had this issue as well there were 2 problems:

1. In the old Office plus element names can have extra spaces or less spaces but the dbget formula never complained so they were left embedded but in v12 it is an issue.

2. If you need to reactivate the formula and it works that means there is a problem with the formula which is auto corrected by excel. You need identify the issue and then use find and replace to fix all of them.
