BSI 9 - extended support - question
s-fonley
Hi All -
I know lots of us BSI users are struggling with the 10.0 upgrade and really
frustrated with the lack of BSI support.
Now that we are past the 11/30/14 deadline - and still do not have BSI 10
working properly - we feel we should NOT have to pay for extended 9.0 support
because BSI released a product that has major flaws or set up issues AND they
have offered little to no support during the upgrade.
Would anyone like to share how you're handling TF9.0 extended support, if you
are not yet live with BSI 10?
Your input is appreciated.
thanks!
Colleen

Colleen, It's my understanding that Infor dropped support for BSI 9 NOT BSI. Our thought is if there are any issues related to BSI 9, BSI should provide support. We're had issues with the 10d release when testing and never moved it to production. We are currently installing and testing the BSI 10.e1 release in the hopes our issues are resolved.

Interesting.
What will you do for 2015 tax updates? I was under teh understanding you had to be on 10.e.1 in order to receive them.
unknown
My understanding is that if you contracted for and paid for BSI Extended support, they will provide tax updates (e.g. 2015 tax updates). Extended support doesn't cover any further cyclic updates on TF9 however. Regarding TF10 tax updates, you'll be able to receive/apply 2015 tax updates on TF10.e, you don't have to be on the TF10.e.1 which was an optional cyclic.

No matter if you are on 10d, 10e, or 10e1 - I have not seen any client in PA say the new Tax Factory works - this is a problem. Rumor mill says 10e2 will be out along with the coal in our stockings! Where is the composite list of patches and updates that will issure we are taxing correctly. Whoever decided to make the change at Year end should be fired! The software does not work, it is difficult to administer if you are not used to web servers and neither vendor is giving us excellent support - so much for Xtreme Support other than Extreme frustration. If Infor decided to decommission 9x, then they need to stand up and support their clients, recognize the issues, and provide adequate direction to get us through year end. Then develop a better strategy to get us to 10x in 2015. This adds more fuel to the fire to question the product - please wake up and take a positive stance for all your clients.

thanks for the input! I'll pass your responses along to our team.
We are currently testing 10.e.1 but so far I'm told it is not working either.
I also read(through this forum) that 10.e.2 will be out around 12/20.
We know we will have to work with BSI to get our 2015 updates. I was asked to get some feedback for how others were handling the extended support.
thanks again!
