Application Studio Question

Hi All,

I have a question regarding Application Studio. I am currently configuring a report, and I've encountered an issue with the variance cell when the Year hyperblock is collapsed.

Specifically, the problem lies with the Var % columns and the Year column. Whenever I click the '+' icon to expand, I receive a #VALUE! error in the variance% cell.

If anyone has experience with this or knows how to resolve it, I would greatly appreciate your help. I've been trying to figure this out myself but haven't made any progress.

Can you share the formula you’re using in the cell that’s calculating that field?

Looks like your formula is referring the Actuals column hyperblock. So you will find your formula works fine when the hyperblock is collapsed but not when expanded. This is expected behaviour.

Solution is to replicate the actuals and budget columns to outside the report visible area, either ensure these hyperblocks are collapsed or not use hyperblocks, and have your variance formulas refer to these hidden amounts.

Hi Peter, I didn't know you were here as well haha!

They told me to get the sum of the base levels and told me to put it in the hidden area of the report. I realize my hyperblock is Year (inclusive) so issue is appearing when expanded, it doubles the amount.

So I tried doing it by hard coding the Year on the hidden area and call them on my variance formula, and it works fine now.
