ESS and IE compatibility

We are currently on Lawson ENV base 9.0.1.5 and EMSS version 9.0.1.6. As such, our users can only fully utilize ESS on IE up to Vers. 9. Our specific issue is that many users have now upgraded their personal pcs at home to IE 11 and thus cannot access ESS at all-get a cross domain error. Per Support, we can upgrade ESS to version 10.0, remain on the 9.0.1 base platform, and this will allow access to IE 10. They do not have any info currently published for IE 11 so that really doesn't help me. What configurations do others have that are working (or not) for IE 11? I believe that an upgrade to a Vers 10 base platform may resolve the issue but we are not on track to do upgrade from Vers 9 to 10 at this time. Any suggestions are appreciated!

We had a flurry of calls from people with IE 11 right after Mr. Gates pushed it out with the monthly windows update. As a work-around my Tech folks changed to run Lawson in Compatibility mode. We haven't had any calls since, so I guess that resolved the issue.

The change was to add "Header set X-UA-Compatible: IE=EmulateIE8" to $IHS_HOME/conf/httpd.conf.

Barb can you please tell us in what section of the httpd.conf file that they added the statement? Perhaps you could add a screenshot of the entry that was made.

We are in a Windows based Websphere environment and wish to do as you have described here.

We can not find an httpd.conf file. Is there a equivalent file that we can edit in our environment?

Infor Xtreme's knowledgebase points us to various options which do not exists in our configuration.

If you're using IIS as your web server, you can add it as a HTTP Header on the site. From IIS Manager, open your site and open the HTTP Response Headers. Add a new header with the following:

Name: X-UA-Compatible
Value: IE=EmulateIE8

We put this in our test environment this morning and it appears to be working so far.

We followed the instructions of RobertCanham, and, so far, this works for us as well. We had to add it to our LSF servers, as well as a server in our DMZ for users outside our firewall. Thanks!

We would like to thank all for their above suggestions. We utilized them to great success on our development box and are planning to migrate the same changes to production.

We are hosted by managed services and they are using IHS and they said there is not an option to emulate IE8. Anyone else using IHS and gotten this to work?

We just upgraded from 2003 to 2008 servers on Lawson ENV 9.0.1.13. My network folks tell me that IIS looks completely different on 2008. Has anyone followed the original instructions below in a 2008 environment?
