External Lawson Access

Okay, so we are in the process of upgrading to Lawson V10 and are now in discussions on how we can allow users to access Lawson outside our firewall. We have heard of 'custom' web pages with just ESS, etc links on them, we have heard of ISS - Infor Security Services, and some others. I would like to know if any other organizations allow this type access and if so how are they accomplishing it.
