Syteline - Cloud Customer. Single way to update Promise Date on Purchase Order Lines

Please note this is a cloud customer. We want to be able to set the Promise Date equal to the Due Date by default on all Purchase Order Lines. We create PO’s through the forms, EDIs, Material Planner Workbench, conversion of PO Requisitions, sourcing directly on a job order, sourced directly from a Customer Order. To make this work, I have had to (so far):

Modify the PO Lines form
Create a form script to update this on the Convert PO Requisition form
Create an extgen for PO lines from the Material Planner Workbench

Does anyone know a “single” place that I could set this and it happen every time a PO line is created regardless of how it is created? This seems like a huge amount of work for this, so I just want to make sure I am not doing more than I should!

IDO Events can handle all updates does by the software at the IDO level. However, if there is any T-SQL code in Infor SP's that update poitem records, they will not trigger IDO events. Of course adding a database trigger would catch everything - but aren't available on the cloud. Once T-SQL is retired, all updates will be at the IDO level & this issue goes away. On a practical basis, there may be no/few direct Infor SQL updates to the poitem table, so you might be safe doing things at the IDO event level. But to be sure, someone would need to scan the SP's in an app database.

You can create an AES event to load your PO lines and update them. You can then trigger the event to run on a schedule, like once an hour, once a day, etc.

Need it to set it when the PO so this would not work in this instance but I can see where this concept would be useful in other things. Thanks for the suggestion.

You can build an AES event on IdoOnItemInsert and IdoOnItemUpdate to update the promise date same as the due date.

No matter from where you call, this will automatically update on both the insert and update process.

If you do have a method of getting this to work let us know! I am also curious. We do something similar with our Order Lines but we call the event whenever the Order Verification report is run so it updates before any outputs are generated. But because the lines come from all over the place it would be awesome if there was one generic trigger.

Not always true - if you generate PO lines from MRP, Convert PO Requisition Utility, those lines will be inserted and updated via the SQL back end. Those do not run through the IdoOnItemInsert and IdoOnItemUpdate events unfortunately
