Using Primary Flag in GHR on a Work Assignment

Can anyone comment on how they use the primary flag when an employee has multiple work assignments? If someone is working another assignment in the interim, are you setting the interim assignment to primary and then switch it back when the interim assignment is over or do you leave it as a true multiple assignment requiring that the employee clock in at that work assignment when working it? In what circumstances do would you change the primary flag on a work assignment? We currently flip the primary flag to the interim assignment and then switch back when the interim is over but have noticed issues when it interfaces to S3 that it doesn’t always update properly. I am curious how others use this flag.
