Trigger IPA Using Action w/out Updating Records or Requiring Variables

Hi,

Is there a way to trigger an IPA without requiring variables or updating records? All we want is for a user to push a button on a form or action icon on a list and for Infor to trigger an IPA.

Perhaps its the action type we are using, but we just want the IPA to run without updating anything in the system.

You could do something like this...

    Action Rules
        invoke CreateWorkunitByFlow PfiWorkunit
            assign result to NewWorkunit
            invoked.FlowDefinition = "FLOW NAME HERE"
            invoked.WorkTitle = "WORK TITLE NAME HERE"
            invoked.SourceType = "Landmark"
            invoked.Source = "PfiTrigger"  
        invoke Release NewWorkunit.PfiWorkunit

The issue we are running into here is that the LPL is throwing an error on the NewWorkunit field in the "assign result to NewWorkunit" line and the "invoke Release NewWorkunit.PfiWorkunit line" that seems to indicate a relation between our user business class and the PfiWorkunit business class is required.

error is "Invalid Field"

I built something like the below recently but I had to put it on the HROrganization or BenefitsOrganization business class to get around needing all the variables. In this case the user clicks a button on the menu and it calls a IPA flow that generates a file.

RunEligibilityFile is a RequestAction

I have been able to do what you are describing against a user business class and I'm sure I can do the same with a delivered business class.

So the caveat is that we'd like to trigger the Instance Action from a SearchForm on a report. We have been able to trigger the IPA using a called out action on the report, but it still requires us to select a row record for the action to be valid/clickable.
