HSA Plans - Best Practices

After being a Lawson Consultant for 10+ years, I stepped away from the product for a few years and am back as a client and faced with the challenge of setting up HSA Medical plans for this year's open enrollment. Can someone please direct me to if there is any documentation on defining these plans or what the best practices are in setting the plans up?

I am also in need of some guidance on setting up a HSA as we are implementing for the first time this year too.

We are looking into the Benefit Add-ins that are available from Intellias. Their product has the ability to allow plan dependencies for an HSA enrollment using ESS. So the employee chooses the HSA Health Plan and then is allowed to enroll in the HSA employee and/or employer and the Limited Purpose FSA. If they are not choosing that Health Plan (we offer two Health plans - the other is not HSA) then they are only offered a traditional Medical FSA.
We just completed open enrollment without the add-in pieces. It required us to do a lot of auditing of enrollments and contacting employees to "fix" issues with their enrollments. Hoping we are able to make the Intellias product fit into our budget for 2014 enrollment.
Its truly amazing to me that Lawson/Infor has no built-in solution for some of these common benefit set-up needs. When/if you see a demo of the Intellias product, you will say "why can't Lawson/Infor software just DO THIS??"

Intellias has a great product. Their Self-Service Online Benefits Application has been evoling over the last 12 years. I attended a demo at our recent user group meeting. Plus, Chad Mitchell, the President is very dependable I used to use him for all my EMSS customizations (2003 or so). Here's thier link:

Any new updates on best practices? I see most postings regarding this topic are from 2013 & 2014. I would love to hear if Lawson made any enhancements to the process for linking plans and working the HSA benefits.
