Please check out this Enhancement Request 90844 to add a check box in the Shift section of the pay code configuration with a label, "Exclude Base Pay from Calculation".
Why we want it: Shift pay must be expensed separately from wages when distributed. Employees need to see Shift earnings separately on pay stub to understand the extra earnings for working different shifts.
