Summary
In PDS060 Product Variant you can create product variant number either by:
1) Letting M3 automatically generate the variant number as defined in CRS775 Settings-Product Variants
2) Letting the user decide the variant number and create the variant number (ie the CRS775 definition is "bypassed")
We create variant numbers that are within the series defined in CRS775 (eg 1234567-xxxx where xxxx is the variant), but we do not do it in sequence as CRS775 would do it. We might create 1234567-4420, and then create 1234567-0020, followed by 1234567-0281, etc). In PDS061MI it is only possible to create variant numbers according to 1) above, hence the next number in the variant number series is always generated according to CRS775. PDS061MI should also allow to create variant number (VANO) according to 2) above, hence let an external system decided the variant number (VANO) by using API.
