Lawson Security SysAdmin Group Windows 9.0.1
dscheppa
We are on LSF 9.0.1.12 and I have a question concerning SysAdmin work.
Currently we use “Lawson” to create new users, manage ProcessFlow Administration and manage Security. So this means several people have the Lawson user password and Lawson has LS=No in LSA so he can go in and complete user setup in LAUA also as from all I can figure out LAUA setup is still needed in 9.0.1
Has anyone created a security class for a sysadmin group to do these functions or do you use Lawson? Is the answer LS=NO for the Sysadmin group?

We have two IT staff members who perform these functions, both are CheckLS=Yes, and they use their own usernames (not lawson). Both have the Security and Process Flow roles assigned to their RMID's which enables them to do this.

Barb, can these IT staff members get into LAUA with CheckLS=Yes?
Like Kathy, we find that there's just one thing that we need to do in LAUA to complete some user's setup but if I have CheckLS=Yes I'm not allowed in LAUA.

We have never had LAUA so I really don't know what that entails. If you mean LID, that's true, you would have to have a second RMID with CheckLS=no to perform LID functions such as usergrpdef.

Barb What version of LSF are you using? Are you on Windows or UNIX?

I am the SysAdmin at YNHHS, and my Logon is CkeckLS = NO, in order to create the Users RMID etc..
I have also created a Test User, which is CheckLS = YES, in order to test out new Roles that I create.
As well as new Roles, when I create new Bookmarks, we use Groups to determine who gets the Bookmarks, so it is helpful to use it for that too.
We are also authenticated with AD.

We use Unix and are on 9.01.12, with 9.0.1.8 Apps at the moment.

We are bound to corporate Active Directory for SOS. I know in LSF10 the LAUA setup is no longer needed.
Just wonder how other companies are setup for these Admin functions. From what you are saying Peter the users that require New user setup or ProcessFlow Administration the user need LS=NO in LSA right?
unknown
That's correct.
That's the way we have it setup here.

We set up new users and perform ProcessFlow Admin with
CheckLS=Yes, and I understand in the new Lawson Security 10 there is no option for CheckLS=No, everyone will default to Yes.
I only need CheckLS=No to get into LAUA and we only use that to assign the
Security group.
You can get in LID (usergrpdef, ect) with CheckLS=Yes.
