Question on BSI cyclical 11.0k and associated Infor patches

With the release of S3 patches to accommodate BSI cyclical 11.0k on 12/21, is anyone delaying the application of these patches, as well as the update of the cyclical?
Since it affects PR140, we try to perform detailed parallel testing of the patch before applying in production. We do not work in Alabama. We need to apply Regulatory 128 - which has the Federal rate table changes for 2024. It is labeled a 11.0k bulletin.
Is anyone else applying the bulletin, but waiting on updating their cyclical update?

We are installing BSI 11.0k and bulletin 128 but not the CTP since we do not have Alabama employees. Timing of this cyclical upgrade/patch is very unfortunate!

BSI Bulletins are not cyclic dependent. The notifications for BSI Bulletins will always have the current cyclic listed on them.

However, even if you are still on TF11.0a (not recommended!!), you can apply a bulletin that lists TF11.0k.

I thought sometimes, the cyclicals need to be applied, because they change how the tax calculations are processed.

Since this cyclical is primarily in states that we do not work in, we will delay updating the cyclical, as well as applying the patches.

Yes, it is always recommended to remain current on cyclics.

But the point is...bulletins can be applied at any time as the bulletins are not dependent on the cyclics.

Hi! We just ran our first payroll cycle of 2024. We had applied BSI bulletins 128 & 129. However, we did not update to BSI 11.0.k cyclic yet and have not applied the Infor CTP for Alabama -- just because time constraints did not allow for set-up and proper testing. During our first payroll cycle, we had issues with our AL employees. It did not take a state withholding for them, other than the additional amount some employees elected on their state W4. It impacted all of our AL employees, a mixture between hourly and salaried employees. Any thoughts on this situation?

Hi Sheila, Yes we experienced the same issue with our AL employees. When working with BSI they indicated that Bulletin 129 was dependent on Cyclic K, also keep in mind that Cyclic K is dependent on the CTP. When testing CTP, Cyclic K and Bulletin 129 we also noticed that our WFH employees were having the exempt amounts reduced twice not sure if you will see the same issue. Yesterday Infor provided the following KP article 2323501 indicating how the employees need to be set up. Hope this helps you.

In case this alters anyone's plans: My co-worker contacted BSI this morning.. this is a part of the response that he received back:

The analyst indicated that we should wait until next week, when TF11.0k1 cyclic update

should be released and posted. We should then download and apply the client, server

and cyclic data file associated with this update.

CTP #126258 was also posted to the Infor Support website and is associated with the

release of the updated TF11.0k cyclic code.

WE tested all this and did not see the reduction of duplicate wages. Did you see this right away on the manual check or PR140 when processing?

All other employees located in other states calculated correctly. So far, we are not aware of any other issues.

Hello Andrea, I have AL employees that OT wages were not tax exempt, did you resolve your issue?

I submitted an incident to BSI, we have at least 400 non exempt in AL and 22 of them are not calculating correctly

With the recent CTP126264 - labeled as AL Overtime Incorrect Taxable Wage - What exactly is it doing, we did not have any issues with our taxable wages for our AL nonexempt employees?

An issue was found that only when multiple calls were made to BSI (different taxation on the same paycheck), the AL Overtime amount was being sent on pay where it should not have been. Correction was made to only send the AL Overtime amount when E031 pay is used.
