HR11 user fields, trying to delete the fields or hide them on HR11

I'm adding some new user fields on HR11 and want to hide some old user fields. The fields still display even after I make them inactive. Is there a way to only display the current user fields on HR11.

Someone years ago, suggested renaming so they fall at the bottom. I haven't tried it but maybe it is an option for you.

If you no longer care about the data, you can delete the user field itself.
However before you can do that you have to go through any employees that have a value set for that field and delete the value (using the Delete FC, not just by blanking it out).
Ideally, you'd do that via an add-in query & upload combo.
Once there are no more records tied to that user field, you can just remove it from the appropriate set-up screen.
If you care about keeping the data, then the best that I'm aware of you being able to do is rename the field to sort to the last page.
