Send document to signature with docusign via API

Hello,

I found this API in Ion API Gateway in our CloudSuite

?/v1?/signature?/envelopes?/send

What I'm trying to achieve is to send a document to a parametric recipient (i.e. based on amount and document type).
How can I specify in the API the right IDM document I have to send?
I also can't find the "template" field in which specify what envelope templates to use?

Has anyone already achieved that?

Hello Davide! The Signature API calls available in IDM endpoint are for the Signature process within IDM. Which allow for a user to send envelopes using a DocuSign portal page. You can use the send function, if you do not want to use a template. The document will be a base64 encoded string for the $.contents[0].data value. I have handled this in a Data Flow with using the Merge with script functionality, like first screenshot below. Use the ContentDocument coming out of IDM and then get the stream of the file. The merge script will merge the original BOD with a base64 encoded string of the binary stream of the file. This could then pass a JSON BOD to the DocuSign API endpoint to send the envelope.

Due to the limited functionality of DocuSign integration, you cannot use templates. However, you can add a DocuSign endpoint that would contain all of the available API calls, which include anything needed with templates. The second screenshot below shows the API that would create an envelope from a template.
