Please Endorse Enhancement Request 105679- Include Given name(First name) and Family Name(surname) i

Please consider voting for this enhancement

We would like for Last Name and First Name included to the search criteria on the Resources page in Global HR, as implied by the search labels, instead of just Preferred Name, which is also not made clear to the user.

Currently, searching the name in the Resources landing page only does so on Preferred name. This is however not clear to the user because the search field label does not state this but instead "Last Name" and "First Name".

This means that the search fields in the Resources page do not correspond to the fields(Last and First Name) in the employee profile. If one made a search typing in the actual first or last name, this would yield no results and give an impression that the employee being searched for does not exist.

Hi Rachel, Thank you! There really isn't a good work around other than limiting access and ensuring any updates to all environments are logged (which we currently do in our ticket system). We are lucky it was a minor issue and not a more important link in our PRD environment. We did discuss a few scenarios that could have created more significant issues. Like Sheila and Stace's endorsements stated, it will provide an audit train, allowing us to troubleshoot and educate.

Have you already tried customizing the "EmployeeAdvancedSearchForm" search form for the Employee business class to add Name.GivenName and Name.FamilyName fields?

If you have Config Console, you could easily create a configuration on EmployeeAdvancedSearchForm:

It currently has the following -

Name.PreferredFamilyName
label is "LastName"
show up to 30 characters
Name.PreferredGivenName
label is "FirstName"
show up to 30 characters

Change that to this -

Name.FamilyName
label is "LastName"
show up to 30 characters
Name.GivenName
label is "FirstName"
show up to 30 characters

Otherwise, you could certainly wait for an enhancement but that could take years. You can get the same results with the above in about 10 minutes.
