FSM Mingle Sessions

Good day

on occasion i have to lock users out of the FSM Cloud suite application in order for the financial business officer to complete their task

to do this i usually export all users from the mingle side disable them and re-import the users. thereby disabling all users.

How ever i have recently found out that users already in the system even though they are disabled can still process information in cloud suite. it is only when they log off and try to log back in that they are locked out.

I would like a way to completely kill all user sessions or lock out users when i reload the the exported file or is there a process that is known in cloud suite to completely lock all users except officers identified until the business process has been completed by the business officers (Chief Accountant)

Have anyone win the community every tried this before

This is interesting. We've never had to do this before but my immediate thought is to deactivate FSM securityclasses that are assigned to securityroles of users you do not want performing actions. It would need to be tested, but may have a more real time effect you're looking for.

I believe you said you have to do this for a financial business officer to complete their task. What is the task the financial business officer has to complete that is requiring for you to do what you're doing?

the task would consist but not limited to uploading journals and or anything to do with budget
however the session kill or lockout should work regardless of what task the business officer is attempting

I don't understand why you need to lock [most] all your users out during this process, but ...

While deactivating security classes would work, but you'd want to be very careful to not disable the security classes tied to roles that your business officer relies on.

Another option to consider would be removing the ActorRole records of the users you want to be immediately disabled. You could then restore them after (or re-save the user's record in IFS which should trigger a security BOD to go and update FSM).

Yes, i agree most users are/should be generally out

however all of our users are not stationed in one location

we have decentralized government accounts section across the island

we can disable users, however some officers may still be in and when this happens can cause challenges in the system while we try to upload/process data

this is why we would like a method that will totally kill user sessions regardless if they are in when we do a mass disable or not.

the accounts managers may have to perform tasks where the have to disble budget tracking

this is the main reason that accounts officers can not be in the system while the managers are working
