ED40 Records for req locations

Hi,

Has anyone setup their ED40 records to use req locations? I am working with our prime distributor to have direct deliveries for the surgical areas at one of our main hospital locations. This is a subset of requesting locations. Currently the sorting and receiving occurs off site. My goal is to have the goods palletized by req location and elminiate the sorting at the dock.

I opened a case with Infor/Lawson but it wasn't much help. They referred me to KB 1202040. Not very informative or directional for what I am trying to do.

The req locations transmit via EDI in the N2 segment. I tried to set up the SDQ segments in ED40 but I can't seem to get the ship to account numbers flowing for specific req locations based on the KB article.

The recommendation from our prime distributor at this point is to provide them with a list of all our req locations at that facility. They will map on their end. My concern with the external mapping is the ongoing maintenance and the potential higher rate of errors. Any changes to locations that don't get mapped or are delaying with external mapping will cause PO's to reject.

Your goal is to have goods palletized by req location. What does the vendor require/support you sending in the 850 to be able to do that?

The SDQ can be used for that purpose. By default the req location would be sent in the SDQ03. if the vendor wanted something other than your ids, you could use a couple data subs to for that. Described in different KB 1488542.

You load the req locs like you do your ship tos but instead of TPID_O_SHIPTO you use TPID_O_DEPT and in the Lawson Value, the 5 character Req Loc goes where your 5 character dock would go.

Depending on the distributor, that may not put it in the correct segment. If they need it to *replace* the ship to then you also have to make sure any 3rd party like GHX has the account number boarded and in ED40 put in ED List Name TPID_O_DEPT_SHIP_TO, Lawson Value: Company, External Value: ON

For O&M we just had to do the TPID_O_DEPT but for Cardinal we had to do the TPID_O_DEPT_SHIP_TO and board them all with GHX.

As for waiting for the distributor to get the account built, for Cardinal, we still have a "generic" ship to for the dock - we would load that as the Dept ship to account number while they got it sorted and we could board it with GHX.

so they will assign a ship to account number to each location? And they will accept/process it in SDQ03?

the KB article should help set that up.

L1_O_LOOKUP_SDQ03 to enable an SDQ03

<tpid>_O_SDQ03 to set the cross-reference from Req Loc to account number.

the ship to accounts numbers were limited since we are not LUM customer. I did get a handful of ship to's which will work for us by the bldg. and the group receiving the goods.
