Assign roles/users in IFS from M3 data

Hi team,

I have an issue in a M3 CE customer. They have created a lot of roles and assignments to users in M3 (MNS410) and they need to recreate them in IFS (user administration)

I know there is a tool to import an XML file into IFS, but this implies to extract the data from CMNRUS and edit this file somehow… Have you experienced this requirement before and how can be solved? (the more automated the best)

Do an Export from IFS for one user and you'll get the format.

Yes, the format is clear. But what I try is to do this process the less manual possible.

I thought in a Data Flow in ION, extracting data from M3 API (MNS410MI) and call a IFS API to create/add this relation... but I do not find in IFS Service any API for this purpose.

Other option is to create a map using IEC to call this M3 API and generate an XML output that can be used to import into IFS (user administration)

Hi , I think automation should be possible . maybe this api can create roles / members in IFS - /usermgt/v2/admin/masterdatatypes/{masterdatatypeguid}/functionalsecurityrole ( I tried it quickly but it did not work for me but looks to be the right one)

However normally the IFS roles are the master and sync to M3 so if this is a one time job then maybe export from m3 / import into IFS will be ok.

Hi,

yes, I think that the less effort solution will be to export data from M3, using the Test API tool in MDP, manage to create the XML file and import it into IFS.
