Fica and/or Fica Med Employee Tax correction

When making the adjustments on employee's Fica or Fica Med taxes we use to offset this by adjusting the employee's FIT taxes. Do you do it this way or there some other way to do it?

We were told last year that we can no longer make the adjustments that way due to some new IRS regulation.
