Infor ETL record/data caps?

Hi all,

I'm looking at using Infor ETL to automate data export from the data lake to a SQL Server.

Most other methods of getting data out of the data lake (APIs, JDBC, data flows, etc) have record caps, so for substantial data sets that might be an issue.

I've scoured the documentation and Concierge without finding an answer to this; are there any record caps or data limits using Infor ETL?

Does anyone know the answer or has used it with massive data sets?

I'm a little ahead of you as I've implemented this on my test. My test database is 468.34 GB. No issues so far.

Hi Mark. the resource usage is covered in https://docs.infor.com/inforos/12.0.x/en-us/usagelimits/default.html

For the scenario you reference there can be counts against API calls, Compute Time, ION Messaging and egress depending on the approach you take. If you go the pipelines route, it has a license as well, covered in the additional services section.

All will have an egress aspect.

Specifically for ION ETL you have a choice of using Compass or using File APIs. If Compass is used you would also have compute time charges. For both there will be API calls. And you can configure the ION ETL to use a mix if that works better for you.

Kevin, I believe Mark is referring to the 'ETL Tool' which is purely extractions from the DataLake to local SQL instance as per answer by 'Polar Bear' has no limitations to my knowledge.

Hi Rene, I believe we are referencing the same... Here is doc link as a reference for ION ETL.

The license considerations I provided apply to it. Cloud Egress licenses applies to any data leaving the CloudSuite, i.e. bytes leaving our cloud to another destination, regardless of what is doing it. It could be API gateway calls to Data Fabric services, document management, Enterprise Connector, or any APIs (such as ERP ) that return bytes of data to the client.

The other licenses apply based on the approach you take to pull or push the data out of the cloud. Be it ION, pipelines, ION ETL, API Gateway (client), Data Fabric Compute, ION, Document Management.

Hello,
I have used ETL tool over 15 month and have no experience to limited data count about exporting from Data Lake to Onpremise Database include over 1 million record 1 time.
If there is limitation of data count, that is in the case that user try to export from Onpremise DB (depend on H/W, DBMS, internal rule limitatin in Onpremise env.)

Hi Rene/Kevin, before asking the question, I was under the impression there were no record caps and the Infor OS service limits did not apply, but I will double-check with my account manager at Infor now. Thank you for your input.
