How does everyone manage multiple units of measure with different manufacturer numbers for the same

How can we handle the following multiple units of measure under the same stock number? Under these three items there are three different manufacturer numbers. This is something that is happening more and more, especially with OR products. We loaded them properly in the GTIN IC11.7 to see if that could be a solution but search screens and drill downs do not pull from that screen.

When the boxes are broken down we still need our departments to be able to search and find the items in Lawson. This is also causing a probelem for us in our surginet application as that data currently comes from our IC11

Below are three items with this scenerio:

Just for clarification Anita - these 3 items are all manufactured by the same MFG correct? (Boston SCI, Cook...) We have experienced the same issue, some MFG will come in to provide training to the Periop staff to understand the difference between Ref # 1 vs Ref # 2 for their products but that's not a great solution. Children's Mercy Kansas City is experiencing significantly more occurrences for this as well and would be very interested in solutions.

Yes, these three items are from Medela. to add a little more detail. we have an interface from laswon (v10) to surginet. We buy by the 15CA uom. Our IC11 and PO13 record have CA uom. The IC11 represents the multiple UOM's. The recommendation for info is to update IC11 mfg # to the each and use the vendor item number field as the pc in PO13. So now we would have different UOM. The clinical staff wind up "free texting" their items on the case picklists since the mfg are different on the each package then what is sent through the interface.

Hi Anita - we do put the lowest uom mfg number on the IC11 to interface to EPIC and use the vendor item needed for ordering uom that we have a buy flag on in the IC11. We are V10 and use Contract Management. Always happy to have a call to talk through our process if interested. deborah.vandermolen@unitypoint.org.

Just rounding back with everyone. We were testing different options, and this seems to be working out the best for us so far:

Item Sync in CM : Update manufacturer number down to the lowest UOM – this updates IC11, IC12, GTINS and Par carts
Vendor Items in CM: “Change Manufacturer Information” Update to the buy UOM for the vendor item only. (This updates the contract too)
IC11.7 GTINS: If there are other GTIN uom’ s other than the lowest UOM – they will need to be changed back to their UOM related manufacturer numbers manually.
