Parting out Engineering Masters. Is there such a thing as a ghost part in VMFG?
My Engineering Manager wants to break out every item in the Eng Master (BOM) to a part with a EM and a dwg. For example an EM for a railing with 4 different lengths of the same diameter pipe would would have 4 independent parts, each with its own EM, and resource and raw material requirements. He tells me that SYSPro has the ability to do this, but I have never seen it in action. Does this make sense to anyone? I see it as a major hassle, both in the production office, and on the shop floor. A saw operator would need to scan 4 different travellers to cut 4 pieces of pipe. Anyone got any thoughts or comments? Thanks in advance
