What is the best way (Http Client or Rest Client) to connect ION API from third party Software (BOO

Greetings!.

We are in the progress of setting up the connection configuration to call the ION API's, and third party provides Http Client, Rest Client. Can anyone please suggest what is the best practices.

We are using the rest client. Make the connection and operation very generic (no request en response profiles) and it is very easy to use (using a map shape) like this in the screenshot.
