Cube name and description

Hi.

In Self Service and Excel Integration the Caption/Description of the cubes is shown. This is difficult especially for the Financial Consolidation cubes as key users normally work with the unique names.

Is there a possibility to change the display to unique names?

Is there any table including a list unique name of cube <> caption & description?

Hello @sneydek ,

just to clarify the request/question.... you'd like to have possibility to define what you will see, e.g. in the data-source pane. So instead of 'Cube Permissions' you would see '#TABACC' (cube unique name). Is that correct?

I think you are correct.

Longstanding FinCon users think in terms of cubes line TFINANC - entity balances. In v12 Captions are protected. It would nice to be able to switch to see (technical) names in Ad Hoc, Self Service and Office Integration for us luddites.

Hello,

what would be also really helpful - possibility to set globally the default element display type in SS. AFAIK it is always CAPTION now and you have to change it manually for each dimension in the SS report. I would prefer 'Element Name' default very much.
