Horizontal Scaling in Windows Environment

We are looking to upgrade to V10 soon and considering Horizontal Scaling to make our environment Highly Available from a resource standpoint. has anyone successfully pulled this of in a windows server 2008+ environment. If so did you use the recommended solution provided by Infor? I was just recently told this doesn't work. Although the person that told that is running in an AIX environment, so I am not sure if this applies to windows.

Please see Infor Xtreme Support announcement dated Feb 18, 2016 that support for Windows Server 2008 SP2, Windows Server R2 will end on May 31, 2017.

You may want to consider Windows Server 2012 R2 and later.

Thanks, we are deploying on Windows Server 2k12 R2. I was just asking in general for 2008 as it has been out and isn't EOL'ed yet had anyone had good/bad/otherwise experiences with horizontal scaling using the Windows platform.
