Re-Indexing Tables Question

I'm curious if anyone re-index tables under M3 Function Search Administration in PRD? If yes, how frequently do you perform re-indexing? Additionally, what are the main reasons for re-indexing tables in PRD? Do you re-index all active tables, or is it only on select tables?

We have numerous workspaces developed in PRD and we detected one or two incorrect matches in a widget or search querying OOLINE results. To resolve this, it was advised that we re-index tables when such occurrences arise, and also incorporating this action into our regular system maintenance. Following the table's re-indexing in PRD, the widget within both the workspace and the program using the search query didn't have any false hits.

Hi Garret,

Your discovery shocks me.....I don't know of anyone who would regularly re-index all tables in PRD.....we certainly haven't. To hear that it is not seamless and data discrepancies occur is concerning. Was it through a support case that they told you to re-index?

Hi, and I have only used it in a TST Environment after a Copy from PRD, since this requires re-indexing to pick up the NEW Data.

Hi!

You should never need to re-index search data in PRD. The only case this could happen is if your data has been updated via a direct SQL by Cloud ops or after a data migration. M3 search is kept in sync via the event through event hub. For TST and DEV tenants the story is different since they need a re-index after the data has been refreshed.
