How do you backup M3 table data (M3 Cloud, Multi-Tenant)?

I have a general question: How do you backup M3 table data?

We are using Infor M3 Cloud, Multi-Tenant for about 2 years. Some tables like CSYLOG (CMS300) get very big, however we need this data because multiple departments need these logs still a year back from now. We are already using CMS330 for archiving CSYLOG data, but there are still a lot of records in this table. Putting data on DataLake doesn't make the data accessable quickly.

Furthermore we want f.i. a backup of the CMS005 data (custom document XML structures, custom views and sorting orders). We do have a training environment, but there we do tests and therefore manipulate the data. Furthermore, DB-storage is expensive.

Hi Dominique,

That's what Admin Tools > Business Engine Data Management is for where you can use the Export functionality to dump the raw data into zip files on the Enterprise Connector host. You can select specific tables or all tables in a tenant, optionally filtering records by company and division. However, to access the data you have to Import it into M3 as it's encrypted and not usable outside of it (to the best of my knowledge). I am not aware of any other ways to back up your M3 data.

I am not aware of any way to automate this process. But perhaps you could ask Infor by raising a support ticket?

Have you looked at Streaming the Data out to a Local 'PostgreSQL' instance?

This way you can keep the Data on local Server, while still archive out on M3 instance.

If there's not need for fast replication (no Streamout) you can replicate the data to local SQL, DB2 or Oracle Database as well by setting up a Connection Point.

We developed a tool to replicate the data from the datalake. The data is send trough a datalake flow to a enterprise connector location or SFTP and the files are imported by the tool. The tool will also read the documents (tables) connected to the datalake flow and create the tables and columns automatically. At the moment windows and sql server are supported. However this doesn't provide a solutions to put the data back into M3 database again. If you want more information, don't hesitate to send me a message.

You can use EXPORTMI to do the job.

Solve the 10.000 record limits with many calls....

There is a API in XTENDM3 that can simplify the job but Infor don't approve it - use only in TST.
