We have workers compensation classes and rates defined on our PR18.1 and we are assigning WC Classes to our Job Codes.
We currently have roughly 30% of our employee base working ‘remotely’ as telecommuters and need to determine the best way to assign the WC Class for ‘telecommuters’. The issue that we are seeing is that we do not create job codes that are specific for a ‘telecommuter’. Example: We have employees who are assigned to an HR Business Systems Analyst job code and 6 of those employees may work in an office location and 4 may be working remotely. Currently all are assigned the same job code as they are all doing the same work.
Based on our current set up, it appears that the only way for us to have the telecommuter WC Class assigned to those working remotely as a telecommuter, is to ‘duplicate’ our job codes and assign one job code to our office workers and a different job code to our telecommuters. This seems very cumbersome and wondering if there is another way to set this up.
Has anyone dealt with this same issue? And how were you able to handle this? Any information you can provide would be helpful. Thanks in advance!
