GL distributions from payroll

We have many, many PR23 records for every pay code and deduction code for each employee who needs to be distributed. I am wondering if there is a similar form in GL where they could say all transactions going to Dist co = 10 acctg unit 762 - distribute 10% to 10 762, 80% to 30 762 and 5% to 20 762 and 5% to 40 700?

It would need to distribute both the hours and dollars that are being sent over from payroll.

I appreciate any direction you can point me.

Have you checked to see if an Allocation in CA10 to redistribute would work? both the units and the amounts.

Have you tried setting up a Cost Allocation (CA10, et.al) to do this?
You can use an Allocation Code with different percentages to accumulate the values and journalize them somewhere else.

Considerations for using cost allocations
- if there will be other transaction sources than payroll, should they be allocated in the same percentages? Like if the GL team did a payroll accrual? If you only want payroll transactions, the source code can work but you'll want to make sure all of your HR driven system codes are set up also (like LP).
- if you post it to a single GL and then allocate, it does mean that it will all go into the single home company/accounting unit and be moved out by the cost allocation. That could be unsavory to your gl team.
- cost allocations typically run for a single period. You could set up enough CA for the number of pay periods you'll have but be cautious with the compute statement so that you don't over allocate.

How can you allocate based on a specific source or system code? This is something I want to do and am trying to research.
