Restrict State Values on Addresses in HR Talent

Hello,

We are running address audits on employees multiple times a week to ensure the StateProvince field is accurate so that integrations and payroll processes go smoothly. Users are allowed to enter a StateProvince value that does not exist. I started with an incident and was instructed that is designed due to requirements in Sourcing where StateProvince did not exist in the system at the time of entry, according to Infor support.

I've submitted enhancement request 109689 requesting that the StateProvince field be restricted to values that exist. Please support if you have the same issue.

I'm also wondering if other have implemented the address validation capability in HR Talent that was released in January 2023 and if the address validation resolves this issue for you.

Where do you see this is possible, what form and field exactly? --> "Users are allowed to enter a StateProvince value that does not exist."

I thought StateProvince was a keyfield and entry forced the value to exist but maybe something else is in play.

We have this issue as well. Employees will enter an Address and in the StateProvince field under EmployeeAddress they will just type in the State, and the first 3 letters stay. They aren’t paying attention that what they are typing in does not fully populate and the remaining is incorrect. It would be better if Lawson forced the user to select the State from the dropdown, vs letting them type.

The employee will try to type in Iowa for example, and IOW will remain and populate in the field.

Employees can enter invalid StateProvince on the AddAddress and ChangeAddress forms. Administrators can enter invalid StateProvince on the EmployeeAddress form.

You optionally populate the valid State/Province values for a Country in the Country business class. If you do, then entered State/Province values in Infor are edited against the list. Check your Country set up for the US Country.

We don't use HR/Payroll so I can't comment on those specific Forms but it works in Infor Payables and Cash Management.
