Birst User Permissions Issue

I have created a cloned space, and added a user to it with GHRBIRST-HRGeneralist, GHRBIRST-Recruiter, GHRBIRST-SecurityExemption.

This user is able to log in and begin to build reports. But when this user tries to use measures, such as employee count, they get the error,

The required session variable is unavailable. InforHCMEmployeeSubordinateSecurity

This user does not have any direct reports, but needs to be able to build reports as an HR Analyst for certain subject areas. I believe I have all the report catalog permissions correct for the space groups this person is in, but they are still seeing this error. I have attached the query I found for that session variable, but I am not sure where to go from here to troubleshoot further.

You can execute the above query in the Space Management/Query Admin. Please note you have to proxy as the USER or hard-code the GetVariable to the user's id in question.

I attempted to run the query hardcoding the user id for the user, and I also tried it with my id. Neither returned any results. I am able to build reports within the space, but I am also the owner. If it truly doesn't return any results, I assume that's why it says its unavailable?

The query is a Security filter for data rows not objects. You have to review the Subject Area permissions as well as the Report Catalog to see if the Space Groups are appropriately assigned.

Cody, if the space is using packages from another space, it's likely these are Security Filters in another space. You are the owner of this copied space, but maybe you're not the owner of the other space.

Look at the Security Filters to see what group(s) are exempt then add yourself into those exempt groups in that space. Then it should not be applying security.

So this was duplicated from our Consumer space, where I am also an admin/owner. The user having the issue is not however. They are in no space groups in the production consumer space. So maybe that is the problem? It's odd because they can pull attributes from say Employee Analysis, but they can't pull measures.

The goal of duplicating the space was to create a sandbox for HR Analysts to develop reports outside of the production consumer space.
