How to use SES003 instead of SES400

Hello All,

For all our companies, I use SES003 except for one of them where I have an avertising message to use SES400 because of a system parameter.

Does anyone know where is this parameter and how to setup it to use SES003 ?

Please note that Infor definitely recommend to use the Role based security rather than SES003. Maybe, instead of switching the company using the role based security you should investigate to switch the companies not using it.

SES400 is not difficult to use. We did the setting at company level (division blank) but probably it can be done per division. you just need to define which program is assigned to which role and then give the role to the users.

I find it easier then SES003 (we used that when we were on prem)

We started with the suggested ROLES from the implementation accelerator and then we added our requirements. I do not have internal documentation but probably I would be able to show you how to make those setting.

Hi Isabelle - are you companies in different installations of M3?

My recollection is that there is a grid parameter to say if you want to use SES400 or SES003.

SES003 was the original M3 security solution and this was replaced by SES400 but customers had the choice to use this or not through the grid parameter

Yes, I know ... but it's not what Infor can say .... They told me to use SES400 ....et no more SES003 ....

I'm going to change this value ..... I'm on Premise ... and I want to do as I want !!!

Hi Isabelle - you may find that Infor won't support SES003 if you log a bug.

SES400 has more functionality and you should consider using this at some point - but I understand it is a lot of effort to define the roles and may not be easily done in a short time span
