PR23 Salary Split Overrides

Looking for anyone who has salary splits set up on PR23. If that is you, do you allow overrides to the salary split distribution? If you allow overrides, please explain how you are doing it (on the time record? manual or automated?). Also, do you change all the time reocrds for a specific period, or only specific ones using a defined criteria?

We have a few distributions set up on PR23 for those that are on-going. If the change applies only to a pay period or two, those are handled manually on the time record. Our distributions on PR23 are limited to regular earnings only.

Because of how PR23 works and our benefit structure, we don't want the PR23 split to apply to all benefit deductions (some are roll up to the parent company). Since PR23 is either wide open and applies to all pay codes & deduction codes or it is limited to one, we chose to go with regular earning only rather than setting up every pay code/deduction code the employee could possibly have on any given payroll.

When you are referring to 'handled manually on the time record', are you changing the PD field from 'Y' to 'N'?

No, Payroll changes the Distribution Company/Accounting Unit on the time record. This is for employees who do not have anything on PR23. I do not believe we have every used the PD field to override the PR23 set up. Our PR23's are typically set up for the budget year and aren't changed again until the next year.
