MTD Cannot access the services from this page

I have a user who is trying to send his vat return

Current situation is if he logs onto HMRC via the website he gets an code sent to the phone

In Opera MTD clicks on Authorise and gets message You cannot access the services from thiis page

He has contacted HMRC and has not been able to resolve this

Any assistance to resolve will be appreciated

What operating system is on the PC please Andrew?

HI Ben user is on Win 10 on a laptop Opera is on a terminal Server We have used the mtd vat centre Edge - IE mode on users laptop and getiing message cannot use service logging in directly to HMRC allows the connection

I have seen this before and when I dialled in directly to the server, communication was fine; I passed this to their IT so not sure how it was resolved, but it maybe down to some port being blocked or web browser using proxy service or something like that.

Pegasus have a communication tool that may help to determine what it is.

HI Tony user still has issues used the Edge to IE solution no resolve user then tested on the server still cannot access HMRC via MTD same message cannot access services from this page Wondering now if it is user rights as this is a new user previous user had no issues and no change in environment MTD is being accessed via a terminal server so wondering if this is part of the issue for him

We had major issue with this on two sites. Just couldn't get it working both on client or server.

Eventually, we took their data off site plus their HMRC login details and run it for them. All ran through fine on our network. I don't think we need to put the data back. It just required updating HMRC.

This was a while ago and since then they've been able to run their MTDs on site as normal.

Hi John Would you be able to share the steps that was taken to resolve What information did you move offsite to run the MTD

Thanks John - so I think that you are saying the very fact you could register offsite with HMRC enable your customer to connect up with HMRC on their own site.

Can you confirm?

Hi Tony, no off-site registration required. I carried out the whole submission process offsite just needed their HMRC details and the code it sent to their mobile. I think I downloaded their PegScheduler.mdf too so that it was already authorised.

I just took a copy of their live data and system too for the user, but I don't think that I needed to put the data back after.

I will check and come back.

Looking at my notes, I can't see any mention of the data, so this may have only been the authorisation stage and then they were able to submit after...

So, I

Downloaded PegScheduler.*

Downloaded system
Loaded onto my system.
Logged into Opera as [the user] > MTD and was able to Authorise immediately using their HMRC credentials etc.

I backed up the PegScheduler.*
Restored it back on their system
Went into TaskScheduler options to make sure it was working.

Went into MTD and all ok.

As well as their System folder, User, PegScheduler.* and HMRC login details, I'm pretty sure you will need their company Data too.

Once Authorised off-site (and therefore globally), the PegScheduler SQL db. is the only one that is copied back to their live system but that was an assumption on my part. However, since then (Sept 2023) both sites have had no further issues.

HI John I have tried your steps above and still getting the message Cannot access the services from this page on my local server

Copied Customer data, pegscheduler and system folder

Imported pegscheduler into sql server

logged in as the user into Opera

Run MTD asks to authorise

Go to action authorise and get Cannot access the service

Updated Edge to use IE still same issue

Think I must be missing something but diont know what
