Rehires and applicant tracking systems.

We have set up a process to pull in new hire data to the applicant form from our applicant tracking system (Monster). The process pulls the new hire file from the ATS system into a Lawson directory where we use PA531 to move the data into PA31.1. However, we're not clear on how to handle rehires who come through the applicant tracking system. Any suggestions? What have you done? (we are currently on V9.012 moving to V10 later this year)

Sharing processes that you find work well and don't work well will be greatly appreciated!

We get two files from our external applicant system; an applicant file and a hire file. We do as you do for the applicant file, place it on the server to be picked up by PA531. The hire file is used as input to a process flow that builds the new hire personnel actions (NewHire1 and NewHire2 in our case). Additionally, we strip off the tax election data from the hire file and append it to a tax pending file. Another flow reads that file every day to see if the effective date has been reached and if the employee is now on HR11 - if so the tax elections are added. We only do this on the HR11 creation date, however, because after that point the employee could have changed their mind and used ESS to change their tax elections and we would not want to override those.
Rehires here do not come through or applicant system - but in your case all you'd need to do is see if the employee already existed in the system, and if so, build Rehire actions instead of Newhire actions.
