No Receipt Notify Option

Looking for some assistance with the No Receipt Notify Option.

We are interested in adding some additional information to the output email to assist our end users. Has anyone been successful in adding/modifying the output email? If so, can you share what steps you took?

I haven't customized that email, but you might be limited in how you can customize the email body.

It looks like the email is generated by the EmailNoReceiptInPool action on the PayablesInvoice, and the email body is explicitly defined in the action rules with a few interpolated fields.

Some of the other "send email" actions on the PayablesInvoice use Rich Text fields for the email body that you can actually modify, but it doesn't look like this notification was implemented that way, so far as I can tell.

Just trying to think creatively here and take what Andy's found and leverage it to bend the system to your will ...

You could create an ActionOverride in Config Console on the PayablesInvoice EmailNoReceiptInPool action and in either the entrance rules or the exit rules send your own email (perhaps best constructed in Config Console as a derived RichText field). That'd get you a custom email (albeit two emails). If you picked a different subject line you could set up a rule in the buyer's email clients to ignore the ugly FSM one.

I wonder if you could squelch the delivery of the stock email... FirstPurchaseOrder is a Transient Field of type PurchaseOrder. Maybe if you added another transient field ("SavedFirstPurchaseOrder") you could save the value in an entrance rule, then set it to blank, then in an exit rule restore it (in case something beyond line 346 of the invoking action needs the real value) and send your own email. (I'm speculating that if the to address didn't resolve to a real email address that no email would be sent, but hopefully also no exception would be thrown.)

I'd love it if there was a way in an Entrance Rule on an ActionOverride there were a way to say "meh, never mind, don't do this--just skip running the actual action and return without raising any kind of error." But the only way I know to keep the actual action from running would be to include something like constraint (false), but that would definitely raise an exception.

We did discover that when we altered the email content, that two emails were being sent but only when the Notify option was set to batch. Online option would only send the one altered email. Not really clear what Online means as an option.
