We are interested in enabling and configuring the inventory picking and put away modules in MSCM and looking for lessons learned and experiences. We are currently on prem v10.
Hi
From my experience from being a customer, consulting and now in development for MSCM here are some things to think about for performing the picking process. MSCM v11 picking scheduler by default is set to every 15 minutes so keep that in mind when running the WH130 job. Do look at the configurations as the default settings should change. For example, the Item Number Validation setting is great in the beginning to help your staff ensure they are grabbing the correct item but, after a few weeks this tends to slow them down after a for weeks as it becomes muscle memory or the Tracking Options settings under the Track Delivery option should change to By Shipment if you want MSCM to create the tracking number as the other others require the user to enter a custom tracking number. Lastly, the biggest thing to consider is Wi-Fi within your inventory location as this is needed to download and send the data to the server. Work with your networking team to get a heat map of your Wi-Fi to see the strength and if needed work with them again to get an access point (AP) installed in your inventory location.
For putaway if you are talking about 2 step receiving and putaway, unfortunately this is only for customers who are using FSM as there are configuration settings that need to be enabled their too.
