Process for HRIS Governance
unknown
I wanted to poll the group to see if anyone had a formal process around the reviewing and prioritizing of HRIS projects. We are looking into implementing a formal process around requesting a HR related project. We are wondering if anyone is using components such as Score cards, Statement of work, etc. for their HRIS Governance process.

I posted a request for feedback a few weeks ago regarding governance around the request of HRIS projects. Does anyone have any suggestions that they could offer in regards to this topic?

We simply track all of the pending requests in a spreadsheet, and meet with our Business Partners once a month for prioritization.

I track all of the HRIS requested projects in a tool we developed in Sharepoint. (I also have tracked through a spreadsheet.) The work shows whether IT resources are needed. Our business partners prioritize the work. Any work requiring IT resources has to have a Work request submitted through our Remedy system. Once the work requests are approved, the work is done in the order prioritized by our business partners. If there is mandated work, it floats to the top of the queue.
Hope this helps.

All project requests (modifications, enhancements, new development, new implementations, etc) are submitted to IT via a service request system. IT reviews the request, estimates the resources and our Lawson IT Support Team keeps a list of all projects on a sharepoint site. Each functional team lead (HR/Finance/Supply Chain) monitors their projects and prioritizes based on business need. Those that require capital or are above a certain threshold are forwarded on to a senior goverance team to review/approve. Upgrades and major implementations start at the senior governance team and depending on cost and impact must be approved by the Executive IT team. These are usually major capital projects or those organizational impact.
