M3 - CFT Client - Cloud Storage

Following the release of KB 2280528, it appears that the most recent tenants will automatically switch to 'CFT Cloud' mode.

This is what I found when I tried to update my own environment: the CFT client is no longer downloadable.

Also, from experience, I know that in certain contexts, certain clients had taken to exploiting print files, for example, which were generated in the PRINTS directory for local reprocessing to route them to users or to serve as interfaces with other applications.

Given that the storage space is now going to be in the Cloud, are there any tools for retrieving files from this storage space?

I am glad you said something on this one. When we were going live, we were told it was optional. However in the review with IMS the detail provided was - As part of modernizing the underlying technology of Infor M3 Cloud File Transfer (CFT), Grid versions older than 2.0.20240117_115638 will no longer be supported. From the maintenance window in October 2024 and onwards, the earliest supported Grid version used in CFT Client installations will be 2.0.20240117_115638. Customers with installations running on a version earlier than this must update their Grid.You can either update your Grid version or enable Cloud Storage instead. That KB only addresses updating to cloud.

Hi Denis,

In Administration Tools in M3 you can maintain files in the Business Engine Files application.

There is also a new api endpoint for maintaining the files:
M3/foundation-rest/file-management/v1

Thank you for the information about this new API. I'll take a look.

I do know that it's possible to access this space via the administration tool.
But the idea was rather to avoid, for example, end-users having to know about this space, which is more a matter of administration.

When CFT client was still in 'On premise' mode, it was possible, either by setting up shared directories in Windows or by developing small tools, to avoid users having to go into the administration tools and to make files more accessible to them by approaching the question only from the Windows side.

I don't know if I'm making myself clear by trying to explain this.

But if your CFT Client is managed in the Cloud, unless I'm mistaken, even in Administration Tool/BE Files, you can't access the files generated before in PRINTS, can you?
