error with formulae in XRL report

A user has contacted me as they are having an issue today with an xrl report they have been using for a while. All xrl reports are affected for this one user even though multiple users have access to them

The cells with formulae are striked out and the message at the bottom of the screen in excel says "results of formulas may be out of date as excel is not set to calculate automatically.

The formulae has been set to manual for a while and only today gets this error

Any ideas how to resolve and why this is happening now

Did you get any where with this. Sorry only replying today but had a crazy day yesterday, you'd have thought it was a full moon :-)
Would it be worth uninstalling and reinstalling the XRL? Has there been an update of the Excel? Are they on semi-annual channel?

we ran the Vbscript to register the files to make sure they were registered The user then found a new menu option within Calculation options in excel called Format Stale values he unticked this which allowed him to continue without the strikethrough in the cells

According to Microsoft- When the underlying data for a formula in a cell changes, however the formula has not been recalculated yet, then that cell is considered stale. In Partial and Manual Calculation modes, Excel denotes a stale cell with a strikethrough to alert users that its value is not yet reliable and should be recalculated to account for recent changes.

user is going to monitor as he is the only user with this option

Hi Andrew,

That is so interesting as I opened a XRL report I had written back in May for a customer and noticed the formula field had a strikethrough on it which I've no idea where that came from....

It must be something to do with an update....
I've just recalculated the report and got the same as your user, so thank you very much for coming back and bringing our attention to this as I would suspect we will see a lot of this.
