How are you managing future dated terminations at your organization? Currently, we let them sit for approval in the inbasket until the effective date. When the termination date becomes the current date, the termination is approved and the employee moves into a termination pending status. We then move them into a termination final status 30 days later. We do this to allow for final pay checks, PTO payout, etc. We are currently exploring beginning to approve terminations as they are entered, regardless of the effective date, but have some concerns including losing system access as well as the impact to downstream systems (IDM, etc.). We would like to understand how other organizations are handling this scenario as we move forward. Thank you!
