ACA Priority
unknown
How do we define Priority? Is it based on Employee Cost or Actuarial value?
Does anyone know where this priority comes into play - I assume it is defining something with the reporting but not sure.
Value of 1 being the most costly/highest value.

In talking with Infor and RPI Consultants (who are doing a slew of webinars this week including one on ACA), the "best offer", and associated Priority, is something no one is willing to commit to knowing exact details on. The uniform, and probably wise, response is "Ask your insurance broker/provider, or the IRS, what constitutes "best offer" from an ACA perspective."
We are asking our insurance broker that very question right now. If I get a clear answer, I'll post it here.

I asked our broker and the answer is best actuarial value. However, from training with an Infor consultant they said to use "1" for the plan that meets the "Affordability" portion of ACA and use 2 for all others. I really won't know if this works until the patch is release to run the BN297.
Hope this helps.

Keep us updated Maria. We have 5 plans that vary in cost to employees depending on FTE. We listed them priority 1-5 (1 being the plan that meets affordability across the board). When we run our BN729 we are seeing all 5 offers listed. I'm curious to know if you are only seeing the 2 lowest cost offers on your BN729?

You will see all ACA plans. The cost on the 1095C will be pulled from your number 1(best offer) plan regardless of what the employee chose or should be.

Andrea,
I too am seeing all plans offered on the BN729 but again it's only plans offered. The BN297 is really what will define what is placed on the 1095C which should be your priority 1.
