Set List w/Search Form to Display Results by Default

On a CompositeForm I have a panel that is displaying a list with a search form. By default the list is not displaying any results and the user needs to click "Search" to display the results.

How can I modify the list LPL to display all results that meet the instance selection criteria without having to click "Search".

List LPL

LRCExecAppraisalGoalsMgrView is a List

title is "_"

search form is ExecAppraisalGoalsMgrSearchForm

show 200 lines

always display search

called out actions only

Try commenting out "search form" line.

you need to add "use as filter" as an attribute of search form is....

search form is ExecAppraisalGoalsMgrSearchForm
use as filter

This will retrieve the first page of data (based on default sort) right away and not require a manual search.

Yep, that works as well, presuming a search form is not desired/needed/required here.

So this did solve the issue with the results not displaying by default. However we were using the search form as a place to provide instructions to the user and by adding the "use as filter" LPL causes either the search form or the text from the search form to disappear.

Using the search form was a workaround for us to be able to display formatted text instruction to the user when we place the list on the composite form panel.
