I have just logged an enhancement request. if you think it will be useful can you please give it a wee vote.
When backpay is paid for a previous period i.e. when a new start misses the payroll cut off deadline and has to wait till the following month to be paid so therefore getting two wages in the one month the NI liability should be split over the 2 periods not just one period.
In Opera the NI for backpay is calculated only in the current period which is incorrect and the employee ends up worse off. The onus is then on the payroll processor to calculate the NI manually and then do an override in Opera to correct this.
